We are waiting for Henry to make a shove towards the exit. He's three days shy of his estimated time of arrival. I know these due dates are approximations but they might as well be bonafide promises. Every day after the 13th I will consider him late. I won't hold it against him forever but my patience will run thin. That mostly means that Joe will suffer my non-stop whining and crying and moaning. So Henry, your timeliness is appreciated. I do not want to delay the gratification of you for even a day.
I did not have any labor signs with Eli so this is new turf for me. He was a week late followed by induction and wrapped up with a c-section. I'm hoping to go as close to hippy as possible this time. No induction. No knives. As for the drugs, I'll enjoy them. That's why I'm not a good hippy. That and I love Target.
According to every source I can get my hands on, I am showing some signs of early labor.
1. There is some tolerable cramping about the belly. It comes and goes in no clock-able fashion but it did wake me up several times last night.
2. There are sharp, shooting, over and done with pains to the crotch-al region which must be Henry's head (full of unruly brown curls) grinding up against some central nerve I own.
3. There are charlie horses in my high inner thighs that would embarass you to be seen with me in public. These horses demand an immediate downward-facing dog position no matter whether we're in the grocery store or the pool.
I can't wait to know what it's like to HAVE a baby as opposed to having one removed. I want the show to start now. It's raining. There isn't a ton I feel like doing. Henry's aafely within the range of Gemini. Joe's home for the weekend. Now would be an excellent time for the boy to arrive.
Tick, tock.
If the contractions are waking you up, I bet it will come this weekend. But...both of my labors were semi-induced so I don't know what's it's like for contractions to build gradually.
When we are all done, I will tell you my labor story. You don't need to know now. Looking back, it was okay. You'll be looking at all with hindsight before you know it, too.

I don't know how you're being so patient with only THREE DAYS left! I'd be going nuts. Actually, with 138 days left, I'm already going nuts, so I think you're probably handling yourself beautifully. I wanna go "as close to hippy" as possible, too - but sans drugs because I am a big wimp when it comes to that - so I'll wait for your birth story... unless it's too scary to share or something, in which case I expect a proper warning ;)

I would LOVE to be seen in public with a pregnant lady doing yoga in the grocery store. You misunderestimate the amusement qualities inherent in being out with such a person.
Best wishes with the birth, however Mr. Henry decides to come out. My friend (midwife) does a lot of VBACs, so I think I understand how exciting that possibility is, but even if for whatever reason that doesn't happen, the babies still seem to make it out in time to be cute, right.

Oh do I HEAR you on the rain (and I like rain) but a MONTH of rain non-stop--gah.
I seem to have missed the shower-- I don't know where to go but OH how I send you good wishes and cake and celebration for this new baby entering your lives.
All the very very best (my typo was beery--hee-- beery beery best?)

You know, my doctor was the one to tell me I was in labor when I went in for my weekly checkup. I didn't even know it! I'd felt some contractions, but not regular or close together.
Come on Henry! Get thee to the "crotch-al region!" Stat! (I like that phrase & will be working on including it in conversation today at our garage sale. Not sure how it will fit in, but I'll see if I can find an opening... HA! Sorry. I need a little more caffeine.)

I don't remember any build-up. Each of mine started with a crotch-al exam and that was that. Off to the races we went. Emily's race-about 3 hours- was quite a bit speedier than her baby sister. Each experience was wonderful.
Good luck!

About the time my last one was due my husband had to go out-of-town to his brother's funeral for the weekend. My mom was coming to stay with me and my other two kiddos. There was NO way I was going to have this baby with my mom! I did everything that Friday, drove carpool to preschool, washed the van, cleaned, bought some things for my husband to take up to my sister-in-law. It worked, by the time I picked up the carpool the contractions were 7 minutes apart. She was born that night and he left the next morning.
I'm pulling for you. It sounds like a perfect time to be born. Come on Henry!!!

Thinking about you and hoping Henry is on his way so we can have the same birthday. : )
I am so excited and anxious and all that jazz.
I want it to all go well for you. Can't wait til he's here.

I'm sorry, I'm ALWAYS late to the party!
I'm guessing he's going to take you completely by surprise, and dad better have a catcher's mitt handy. :)
My psychic powers tell me that he's going to be mischievous from the start.
*HUGS*
I'm so excited for you!

Hi Meredith! Are you off birthing a baby?! Wishing you well...

I think if you eat a few hot dogs, you'll go into labor. It worked for me!
Oh, and some cream of mushroom soup...yeah, you'll need that on top ;-)
Great talking to you last night. Love you and your big fat downward dog belly.

But you know, hippies like their drugs. So you'll still fit in.

Oooh! You must know that if you're this close to your due date and NOT posting, we're all going to assume that you did indeed go into labor!!
And if you're not in labor, you're just being mean to tease us in such a manner ;)
Wishing you "go into labor" vibes if you haven't already, and "hope everything is perfect" vibes if you are IN labor or done w/ the labor thing and enjoying your newest addition. :D

Listen, you've had many weeks of this. Relax. A few more days will not hurt. Smile and be happy.
(And get the hell out of there, Henry!!)

I wish you luck on the birth of Henry! My 2nd one took 22 minutes. They say the 2nd one is faster than the first and they weren't kidding! With no epi as well.
Hang in there, and enjoy him!
